Freedom Day: MLK2020

1/20/20: MLK 2020 Music Festival, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts - I’ve performed at the YBCA MLK celebration for the last four years and it is always a great experience. From working with Gerry Dove, Purple Cherry Production, and my I Remember That Song family, to all the amazing artists that grace the stage and the people who come out to celebrate with us; it’s always an awesome celebration of Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy. This year, I was joined by SYTYCD’s Kida The Great, The Funky Divas (1/2 of En Vogue), Nona Brown & more. During my performance, I reminded the crowd that Dr King was viewed as a radical during his time and that we still need radical action TODAY to change the inequities within our system!
