Tell/Tale Hearts Premiere

12/5/19: RyanNicole Performs at the Premiere if “Tell Tale Hearts” I’ve been working with Dan Wolf for years on a hip hop, all female reimagining of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. When it hits the stage, it’s going to be a monster! When Dan is not working on “Curren$y,” he’s doing other super cool things like starring with Phil Wong and Carlos Aguirre in “Tell Tales Hearts,” an evening of hip hop theater at Aurora Theater Company. “On Thursday, the ensemble was joined by special guests Keith Pinto, Alicia Piemme Nelson and ​RyanNicole​, all of whose work attested to the generative sonic power of words — the way sounds flick across the tongue and clack against the teeth and puff from the lips to make a percussive sort of meaning that amplified the evening’s themes of healing, of honestly claiming identity, of finding yourself in ancient myth. They and the trio used rhythm to marshal force through momentum.”
